The trail originated with the aim of putting local public administrations, tour operators and equestrian centres on line around a combined project promoting the various territories that make up the Valsugana and the surrounding areas.

Directly supported by the L.E.A.D.E.A.R. PLUS VALSUGANA Project and by 35 municipal administrations, coordinated by the C3 District of Bassa Valsugana and Tesino, the Horse Trail has involved various equestrian centres stationed along the trail together with the tourism firms, the ProLoco Consortiums and tour operators. These different entities have developed a trail that covers the principal route and alternative routes for over 400 km, divided into 15 stages with relative stopover points.
