The East Trentino Horse Trail winds, for the most part, within the Lagorai mountain chain, the largest in Trentino, which extends from Monte Panarotta to Rolle Pass, traversing longitudinally the whole eastern part of the province. The landscape and views offered by the Lagorai chain are remarkable: the jagged peaks contrast with conifer forests and wide plateaus, the realm of deer, chamois and marmots.

The main route is ring-shaped but there are some interesting alternative itineraries in order to discover territories of undoubted charm like the Valsugana, the Primiero with the Dolomites, the Vigolana plateau and that of Marcesina which directly links Asiago and the Veneto region.

60% of the trail traverses agricultural and forest tracks, 20% over asphalt roads, with lateral verges, on the valley floor, while only 14% climbs over mountain paths that have been properly made safe.

Trekkers can rely on a network of equestrian centres, hotels, B&Bs, alpine refuges and well-equipped shepherd huts chosen especially for the Horse Trail, which guarantee high quality services and direct assistance for both horses and riders.

Each stopover point has places to stable the horses reserved for the Horse Trail and the route has been signposted and made safe. A special Information and Booking Centre is available for horse trekking lovers to plan and realise their ideal route, providing every type of service, from booking accommodation and equestrian centres, from the transfer of luggage to organising specialised guides to accompany trekkers or cultural visits.
